10/31/2023 0 Comments La amelie restaurant![]() I told the waitress to bring the clams and my appetizer, then to bring the prawns as the main course with my salmon and the paella. My wife ordered two tapas, clams and tiger prawns, I ordered an appetizer of shrimp in cognac sauce and a salmon entrée and my mother-in-law had paella. We went back to celebrate my mother-in-law‘s 80th birthday, and it was a really big disappointment. A holiday eve dinner on short notice without a reservation, but we snagged a table near the fireplace and it was really. My wife and I ate there a few months ago and it was excellent. La Camelia was long one Westchester's best Spanish restaurants. And bring a couple of good jokes with you.she loves to laugh. When you make a reservation at La Camelia (they are on Open Table), I suggest that in the special request section you ask to have Serafina serve you. Serafina, and her husband Victor, who came out from the kitchen to chat later, are great hosts, and really made the experience complete. We left stuffed and very satisfied, but it wasn't just the food. For dessert we shared an incredible pistachio cake. It came with roasted potatoes and a vegetable medley. The steak was top quality beef, nice and lean, but very tender nonetheless. The steak comes only partially cooked, and you get to slice it up and finish cooking it, just how you like it, on the stone. It was a huge Black Angus sirloin, served on a sizzling cooking stone. I had a caesar salad followed by quite possibly the best steak I have ever had. My wife ordered a small plate (I forget which one), and then an octopus entree, and later remarked that if she had know how large the entree would be, she probably would have skipped the tapas. La Camelia is basically a tapas place, but they do have a few meat and fish entrees on the menu. It being Super Bowl Sunday, there were not a lot of people out for dinner, so Serafina was able to spend a good amount of time with the customers who were there, and she did just that, engaging in pleasant conversation. She had given her staff the evening off, as it was Super Bowl Sunday, so she was doing the serving as well as the hosting. We were shown to a table near the fireplace, where Serafina happily answered our questions about the menu. ![]() about 5:30 PM, and were greeted at the door by Serafina, one of the owners, an absolutely charming lady who made us feel welcome from the first moments.
